Say Hello to Long Beach's Newest Art Scene

June 18, 2023

The Long Island Herald covered Betzalel's inaugural Spring Bounty exhibition at Temple Israel — documenting a community turnout that more than doubled expectations and highlighting the founding partnerships with West End Arts and the Long Beach Jewish Experience. A first-of-its-kind art initiative in Long Beach, Betzalel opened its doors to overwhelming community response and set the tone for everything that followed.

"There are few things in life that exceed expectations where you could say wow this is better than I dreamed. I have dreamed this dream for a very long time and this is one of those events that I could say surpassed my expectations."

The Jewish Star

5 Towns Chesed Center's Yom Tov Shuk

September 25, 2024

The Jewish Star covered the Israel Chesed Center's community programming in the lead-up to the one-year anniversary of October 7 — including the Am Echad B'lev Echad mosaic project, a full-day community commemoration at which visitors created mosaic art to mark the anniversary. Betzalel Art Gallery partnered with the center to lead the mosaic program. The finished artwork was displayed both locally and in Israel.

"In Israel, you can go to the Nova site or to one of the kibbutzim, and every community will have its observances. Here, you can come to the Chesed Center, to express your grief and to be connected to all of Am Yisrael."

Moshe Bodner, Israel Chesed Center
